Executive Chef, Tenney Flynn, Spearheads the G.U.L.F. Program's Chef Council
Audubon Nature Institute, one of the country’s foremost advocates of Zoo, Aquarium, Insectarium, and Nature Center exploration and education, launched the G.U.L.F. Program in 2012 in conjunction with the State of Louisiana Wildlife and Fishery. The mission of the G.U.L.F Program is to protect the ecosystems of the Gulf of Mexico and advocate for the wellness and manageability of Gulf fisheries, encouraging sustainability and conservation throughout the region.

GW Fins has worked closely with the Audubon Nature Institute for many years to aid their mission in preserving native Louisiana habitats. Audubon’s most recent program initiative is the creation of Gulf United for Lasting Fisheries (G.U.L.F.), which is dedicated to the conservation of U.S. fisheries in the Gulf of Mexico. A council of 12 local chefs spearheads the G.U.L.F. Council, and we are pleased that our own chef, Tenney Flynn, has been asked to be head-up this prestigious group.

On Thursday, December 18th, GW Fins’ Chef de Cuisine Chef Michael Nelson will replicate this culinary celebration, The Feast of the SevenFishes, or “La Vigilia,” which is traditionally held in Italy on Christmas Eve. New Orleans Po-Boy Preservation Festival showcases the humble sandwich New Orleanians proudly call a Po-Boy. There will be over 30 local restaurants preparing sandwiches in every which way. GW Fins will be serving their famous Fried Maine Lobster Po-Boy on the corner of Joliet Street and Oak Street. It only appears on the menu twice a year, so stop by the GW Fins tent and enjoy one while you can!
The festival is this Sunday, November 23rd, 2014 from 10 am - 6 pm on Oak Street between Carrollton Avenue and River Road. The weather will be great, music will...

On Friday, September 27th, we are both excited and honored to be a part of Jefferson Dollars for Scholars 20th anniversary celebration.
The Pontchartrain Center in Kenner will set the stage for the fundraiser's Golden Tassel Gala. It is sure to be a beautiful and elegant evening and Chef Tenney and his team will be hosting a culinary tasting station (again) for gala guests to sample some of our signature dishes. It's showtime! With the highly anticipated re-opening of the Saenger Theater comes the announcement that GW Fins will be offering a fabulous three course Pre-Theater Prix Fixe Dinner for $35.
Beginning with Jerry Seinfeld’s performance kicking off the opening of the majestically restored theater, we will introduce our Pre-Theater Menu, which will be offered from 5:00pm to 6:00pm (guests must be seated by 6pm to take advantage of this special menu). Following dinner, guests can conveniently leave their car at Central Garage, which is located between GW Fins and the Saenger Theater, and the restaurant...
The 2012 Oak Street Po Boy Preservation Festival was a great success over at the GW Fins tent! We were having fun selling (literally) thousands of Fried Maine Lobster Po Boys from 10:30am until 5:15pm.
We want to thank everyone for waiting so patiently in that long line to get their GW Fins' Lobster Po Boy fill for the day. We had so much fun out on Oak St. serving all the hungry patrons, so eager to get their hands on the Fried Lobster Po Boy!
This year, we ran a social media contest offering a $50 GW Fins gift certificate to the person who takes the BEST Fried Lobster Po Boy photo and shares...
September 2012 is shaping up to be quite an exciting month at GW Fins! This weekend and next, we are contributing our fresh seafood dishes to local fundraising events in and around New Orleans. At the end of the month, Chef Tenney is heading northwest (temporarily, of course) to spread the GW Fins love for Louisiana Seafood to Seattle!
