With The Help Of Our Purveyors, Executive Chef Michael Nelson & GW Fins Team Feed Thousands In Hard- Hit Southern Louisiana Fishing Communities
South Louisiana is a very special and important place to GW Fins. It’s where most of our fish comes from and where a lot of our purveyors live. Hurricane Ida devastated their communities and stripped so many people of their livelihoods.
As a thank you for what these fishing communities have done for GW Fins over the past 20 years and to provide some assistance during this difficult time when many are still without power, Executive Chef Michael Nelson spearheaded two volunteer trips for our staff down to Dulac, Louisiana, and Theriot, Louisiana to provide free meals to thousands of people.
We cooked and served 1,500+ freshly made fried shrimp po-boys with french fries for lunch and handed out 1,000+ bags of rice, beans, sausage, Magic Seasoning, and Community Coffee for people to take home.
A HUGE THANK YOU to all of our purveyors who donated food for us to either prepare or put in the meal kits that we distributed. We could never have accomplished any of this without your contributions:
